Pamela MacWilliams, RN, MSN, APNP, ANP-BC
Director, Student Health Center
MacWilliams received her diploma in nursing from Fairview Deaconess School of Nursing in Minneapolis, and her undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. A certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with over 29 years of nursing experience, she has worked as the Director at the Student Health Center since 2009.
Shawn Ekstrom, M.D.
Dr. Ekstrom graduated with a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in biomedical science from Montana State University as a non-traditional student. She completed medical school at the School of Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle, and her residency program through the University of Wisconsin at Wausau Family Practice. She worked in Berlin, WI for several years doing full-scope family care including comprehensive clinic practice, hospital admissions and baby delivery.
Kristi Ziolkowski, RN, MSN, APNP
Ziolkowski received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 2008 and 2014 respectively. Her nursing career began at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison on the cardiac unit. From there she ventured back to the Fox Valley, where she worked in the intensive care unit, and completed her graduate degree to become a nurse practitioner. She is now excited to be practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Oshkosh where her nursing journey began years ago. Kristi joined the Student Health Center in September 2014.
Angela Darnick, RN, MSN, APNP, NP-C
Darnick received her B.S. in Nursing from Marquette University in 2006 and M.S. in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 2012. Having started her nursing career on a Neurosurgery unit at Froedtert Hospital, she ventured into Labor and Delivery shortly thereafter. She continued her career as a Labor and Delivery nurse while completing her graduate education to become a family nurse practitioner. She previously worked as a nurse practitioner in a women’s health clinic in Neenah and is now excited to be practicing in primary care at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where she began working in August 2015.
Lindsay Davel, DNP, PMHNP-BC, APNP
Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Davel completed her B.S.N. at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, and continued on to pursue both her Masters and Doctoral work at the University of Wisconsin Madison with emphases on psychiatric nursing and psychiatry. “Dr. Lindsay” specializes in psychopathology and works with patients to develop a professional working partnership by providing mental health education to promote hope, coping skills, empowerment and meaning. She uses a nursing focus when conducting psychiatric evaluations, collaborating with individuals to develop recovery goals and evidenced-based treatment plans, and providing ongoing rehabilitation as needed. Davel joined the staff of the Student Health Center in early 2016 and also maintains a psychiatric outpatient practice at Aurora Medical Center in both Oshkosh and Fond du Lac.
Brent MacWilliams, PhD, MSN, RN, APNP, ANP-BC
Dr. MacWilliams received both his B.S.N. and M.S.N. degrees from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh before continuing on to complete his PhD. at Capella University in 2010. A registered nurse since 1996 and a nurse practitioner since 2003, Dr. MacWilliams began seeing patients on a limited term basis in the Student Health Center in the fall of 2016 and focuses on men’s health. In addition to his work in the Student Health Center, MacWilliams has served the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh as a lecturer and instructor since 2000.
Tania Hanford, LPC
Tania holds an M. S. in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Community Counseling from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. She became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2011 and joined our staff in late 2016. Hanford also continues to practice as both a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and a Psychosexual Therapist in the Fox Valley area in addition to her role on campus. Tania has experience working with the LGBTQ+ population, sexuality and dysfunction, positive body image, and relationship satisfaction. Her approach combines motivational interviewing, family and relational systems, mindfulness, sexual therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Cindy Schroeder, BSN, RN
Student Health Nurse
Cindy received her B.S. in Nursing from Valparaiso University in Indiana. She started in the Intensive Care Unit in Hobart, Indiana, moved to Oshkosh in 1997, and then transitioned into the role of primary care nurse in Family Practice at Aurora Healthcare. With over 20 years experience as a Registered Nurse, Cindy has been employed in the Student Health Center since the fall of 2015 and is excited to work with the students and staff at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
Paula Hayford, MT (ASCP)
Hayford received her B.S. in Medical Technology from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and her M.S. in Training and Development from the University of Wisconsin Stout. She has worked at the Student Health Center since 1983.
Juliana Kahrs, MS, CHES
Health Promotion Coordinator
Kahrs received her B.S. from Denison University and completed a M.S. in Kinesiology & Health, with an emphasis in Health Promotion from Miami University of Ohio. Through program development and research, she is focused on the behavioral health of college students, including the environmental and social factors that influence those health behaviors, personal well-being, and overall quality of life. She has been with the Student Health Center since January 2015.
Kathy Ludwig, LPN
Licensed Practical Nurse
Ludwig received her LPN degree from Fox Valley Technical College. She began working in the Student Health Center in 1998.
Jaime Zimdars, MA
Zimdars is a Medical Assistant with responsibility for providing primary care assistance, health education to patients, and performing clinical duties by the direction of the center’s health care practitioners. She received her Medical Assistant Certification in June 2000 from NWTC in Green Bay and is currently taking classes to pursue a nursing degree.
Pam Severo, MA
Severo is a Medical Assistant with responsibility for providing primary care assistance, health education to patients, and performing clinical duties by the direction of the center’s health care practitioners. She received her Medical Assistant Certification in 2007 from Fox Valley Technical College.
Prior to her arrival at the Student Health Center in March 2016, Severo worked as a Medical Assistant in both Plastic Surgery and OB/GYN Women’s Care. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, and going to see movies.

Sarah B. Anderson, MBA
Anderson received her B.B.A. in Human Resource Management and M.B.A. with an emphasis in Project Management from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Anderson spends her free time with her family and enjoys singing, writing, and reading. Anderson joined the SHC staff in 2016.
